Dr. Anne Caplan
Dr Anne Caplan is a research Fellow Sustainable Production and Consumption Research Unit Innovation Labs. Her current research focuses on housing and home, urbanity, participation, citizen science and science communication. Before joining the Wuppertal Institute, she was manager of a Federal Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF) research group on single-family homes at the Institute for Cultural Anthropology/European Ethnology at the University of Münster for three years. After graduating as a communication designer from the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences in 2008, Anne Caplan began her professional career as a research assistant in the design department of the Folkwang University of Arts in Essen. There, she also completed her doctorate at the Institute of Art and Design Sciences with her thesis ‘Sentimental Urbanity. The creative production of Heimat (Homeland)’.
